Firefighters called to Caldwell Avenue apartments for kitchen fire

Sunday, June 2, 2013, 9:50 p.m. — The Bardstown Fire Department responded about 9:40 p.m. Sunday to a report of a kitchen fire in an apartment located in the 100 block of Caldwell Avenue. Firefighters arrived to find the fire was contained to a pan that had caught fire on the kitchen stove and had been moved to the back porch and extinguished. Fire crews used their ventilation equipment to help remove smoke from the inside of the apartment.
