U.S. 150 was reopened at 1:30 p.m. Monday after a concrete truck crash closed the roadway just after 8 a.m.
The driver of a Kentucky Concrete truck was airlifted by helicopter to University Hospital after he was injured when his truck overturned on Springfield Road just west of 150 Quick Stop just after 8 a.m. Monday.
The 77-year-old truck driver was pinned in the truck. The Bardstown Fire Department worked about 45 minutes to free the man, who was taken by ambulance to an awaiting helicopter at Parkway Baptist Church. The victim suffered cuts on his head and an arm injury.
The single-vehicle crash closed US150 for five and a half hours. Traffic was routed around the crash scene via KY 605 and Parkway Drive. The concrete truck’s mixer separated from the truck when it overturned.
