Carl Harrell, 73, Bardstown

Carl Harrell, 73, of Bardstown, died Tuesday, June 10, 2013, at Baptist Health in Lexington. He was born Nov. 29, 1939, in Nelson County. He was a retired employee of General Electric, a lifelong farmer and a member of The First Cedar Creek Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Lavonne “Bonnie” Riggs Harrell; and his parents, John Elmer and Mary Della Nalley Harrell.

He is survived by two daughters, Susan Burke of Lexington and Debbie Parrish (Charles) of Lawrenceburg; one son, Jeffery Scott Harrell (Heather Marie) of Louisville; one sister, Lil Thompson of Bloomfield; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and a special companion, June Gilkey.

The funeral is 11 a.m. Friday, June 14, 2013, at The First Cedar Creek Baptist Church with burial in the church cemetery. Bro. Tim Lucas and Bro. Christopher Parrish will co-officiate.

Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Thursday, June 13, 2013, at Houghlin-Greenwell Funeral Home, and 9-11 a.m. Friday, June 14, 2013, at the church.

Memorial contributions may be made to The First Cedar Creek Baptist Church.
