Investigators: More than one person involved in Ellis murder
STAFF REPORT
Tuesday, June 18, 2013, 1 p.m. — Investigators say it appears more than one person was involved in the ambush attack that killed Bardstown K-9 Officer Jason Ellis.
Kentucky State Police Master Trooper Norman Chaffins told WHAS 11 that it investigators believe more than one person had a hand in setting up the ambush attack. Ellis was killed when he exited his cruiser to remove tree limbs laying across the exit 34 ramp of the Blue Grass Parkway.
Investigators have interviewed a woman who drove around the tree limbs before Ellis arrived and stopped to remove them.
Investigators say they still do not have a suspect in the murder.
