Joe Bailey, 59, Bardstown

Joe Bailey, 59, of Bardstown, died Sunday, June 16, 2013, at VA Hospital in Louisville. He was born Nov. 17, 1953, in Bardstown. He was a self-employed wrestling promoter, an Army Veteran with two tours in Korea during the Vietnam era, a U of L fan and a member of Lion of Judah.

He is preceded in death by one son, J.C. Bailey; his parents, Junior and Mary Bailey; one brother, Pat Bailey; and one sister, Debbie Bailey.

He is survived by his wife, Paula Johnson Bailey of Bardstown; one daughter, Kim Ball of Bardstown; two sons, Joseph Bailey of Madison, Ind., and Michael Watts of Bardstown; two sisters, Lisa (Ricky) Jewell and Carol (Tommy) Greenwell both of Bardstown; two brothers, David Bailey of Bardstown and Phillip Bailey of Louisville; three granddaughters, Madison Ball, Evan Bailey and Kalynn Watts; and several nieces and nephews.

The funeral is 11 a.m. Thursday, June 20, 2103, at Barlow Funeral Home with burial in St. Joseph Cemetery. Pastor Teresa Rakes will officiate.

Visitation is 3-8 p.m. Wednesday, June 19, 2013, and 9-11 a.m. Thursday, June 20, 2013, at Barlow Funeral Home.

Barlow Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
