JAMES DONALD ‘DUCK’ MATTINGLY

James Donald “Duck” Mattingly, 71, of Bardstown, died Tuesday, June 25, 2013, at Flaget Memorial Hospital. He was born July 10, 1941, was a native of Nelson County and a retired mechanic for Joe Hills for more than 40 years.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Edna Mattingly; his parents, Martin “Muck” and Margarette Royalty Mattingly; one brother, Mike Mattingly; and one sister, Lois Satterly.

He is survived by one daughter, Beckie (Bo) Downs; one son, Chris “Cotton” Mattingly of Bardstown; two sisters, Barbara Randall of Sacramento, Calif., and Sue Wilhite of Bardstown; two brothers, Ricky (Kathy) Mattingly and Melvin (Sissy) Mattingly, all of Bardstown; four grandchildren, Danny Downs, Michelle Downs, Tony Mattingly and Austin Mattingly.

The funeral is 11 a.m. Thursday, June 27, 2013, at Houghlin-Greenwell Funeral Home with burial in Holy Trinity Cemetery.

Visitation is 2-8 p.m. Wednesday, June 26, 2013, and 8:30-11 a.m. Thursday, June 27, 2013, at Houghlin-Greenwell Funeral Home and after 8:30 am on Thursday.

Houghlin-Greenwell Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
