NE Nelson rescues individuals in high water on Greens Chapel Rd.

Thursday, June 27, 2013, 9:30 p.m. — The Northeast Nelson Fire Department responded Wednesday evening to the area of Greens Chapel Road for a vehicle stranded in high water. Firefighters responded at about 10:51 p.m. to the US 62 end of Greens Chapel and found two subjects in a vehicle in high water up to the hood.

The water was rapidly receding in the area, and firefighter monitored the situation and rescued the individuals once water levels lowered. No one was injured in the incident. Nelson County EMS was called to the scene but was not needed.
