Flood warning issued for Rolling Fork River near Boston through Tuesday

Friday, July 5, 2013, 5 p.m. — The National Weather Service in Louisville has issued a flood warning for the Rolling Fork River near Boston in western Nelson County from Saturday July 6, 2013 through Tuesday, July 9, 2013.

Heavy rain over the last few days and rainfall anticipated over the next couple of days will cause the river to rise. The river was at 24.1 feet at 1:30 p.m. Friday, and is expected to pass the 35 foot flood stage by Saturday morning, with a crest near 40.2 feet by early Sunday morning. Flood waters may cover some low areas on some county roads. Never attempt to cross any flooded roadway.

The next update about the flood warning will be posted Friday evening.
