Flood warning continues as Rolling Fork River approaches flood stage

nws_logoSaturday, July 6, 2013, 10 a.m. — The flood warning for the Rolling Fork River near Boston remains in effect, and is expected to continue through Tuesday afternoon, July 9, 2013.

At 9:30 a.m. Saturday, the Rolling Fork River was staging at 32.7 feet. While this is still below flood stage (35 feet), the National Weather Service expects the river to reach flood stage Saturday evening and crest near 40.7 feet Sunday afternoon. The river is predicted to fall below flood stage late Tuesday morning.

Minor flooding of farm fields and low spots on county roads can be expected. Some homes in flood plain areas will be cutoff.
