Bardstown family of 5 displaced after early-morning apartment fire
Monday, July 15, 2013, 10 a.m. — Three adults and two children were forced from their North Second Street apartment early Monday morning when a fire broke out in the first-floor bathroom.
The Bardstown Fire Department was called to Gazebo Townhomes, 621 North Second St. at 4:20 a.m. for an apartment on fire. Firefighters arrived to find heavy smoke in the area of North Second at the railroad tracks. Fire crews knocked the fire down in about 10 minutes. The American Red Cross responded to help the apartment’s residents with immediate shelter needs. Firefighters cleared the location at 5:55 a.m. Firefighters reported the fire originated in the trashcan in the first-floor bathroom.
