Joseph Herbert Hagan, 94, Lebanon

Joseph Herbert Hagan, 94, of Lebanon, died Monday, July 15, 2013, at his home. He was born Jan. 2, 1919, in Marion marine_veteran_finalCounty. He formerly worked as a carpenter in bridge construction. He was a Marine Corps veteran of World War II, serving in the Pacific theater.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Doris Ann Hagan; one daughter, Patricia Hagan; one son, David Hagan, his parents, William Felix and Blanche Reed Hagan; and one sister, Rose Ann Hagan.

Survivors include two daughters, Mary Garrett of Milltown, Ind., and Juanite Tiwanak of Aiela, Hawaii; one son, Ronald Hagan of Jacksonville, Fla.; one stepdaughter, Rebecca Leonard of Crittenden; two stepsons, Thomas Rector of Lebanon and Ralph Rector of Union City, Mich.; 20 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

The funeral is 1 p.m. Thursday, July 18, 2013, at Mattingly Funeral Home, 195 Holy Cross Road, Loretto, with Bro. Ed Amundson officiating. Burial is in the Lebanon National Cemetery where military rites will be conducted by the Marion County Veterans Honor Guard.

Visitation is 10 a.m.-1 p.m. Thursday, July 18, 2013, at the funeral home.

Mattingly Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
