James Thomas ‘J.T.’ Mouser, 88, Culvertown

wwIIveteranlogoJames Thomas “J.T.” Mouser, 88, of Culvertown, died Wednesday, July 17, 2013, at his home in Culvertown. He was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Culvertown. He was an Army veteran of World War II and retired from the Kentucky Department of Transportation after 30 years of service. He was born April 24, 1925, the son of the late James Joseph and Ruby Woods Mouser.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Victoria Bryan Mouser; two brothers, Joseph Otto Mouser, William H. Mouser; and three granddaughters, Cynthia Marie Mattingly, Rachel Suzanne Culver, Gwendolyn Ann Tiller.

He is survived by five daughters, Phyliss (Paul) Crutcher of Simpsonville, Vonnie (Doug) Russel of Louisville, Vickey (Joe) Ballard of Greenbrier, Tenn., Terri (Mark) Ballard of Louisville, and Frankie (Rusty) Wimsett of New Haven;
three sons, Gene (Sheila) Mouser of Shepardsville, Joe (Louis) Mouser of Bloomfield, and Troy Mouser of Hodgenville; one sister, Sr. Carlene Mouser of Nazareth Home in Louisville; 20 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

A Mass of Christian Burial is 11 A.M., Saturday July 20, 2013, at St. Catherine of Alexandria Catholic Church in New Haven with the Rev Troy Overton officiating. Burial is in the church cemetery with full military rites provided by the Marion County Honor Guard.

Visitation is 1-8 p.m. Friday, July 19 2013, and 9-11 a.m. Saturday July 20, 2013 at the funeral home. A prayer service is 5:30 p.m. Friday in the chapel of the William R. Rust Funeral Home 167 N. Main St. New Haven, with Deacon Eddie Hutchins officiating.
