THOMAS M. ‘TOM’ ABELL

Thomas M. “Tom” Abell, 74, of Lebanon, died Thursday, July 18, 2013, at the University of Kentucky Medical Center in Lexington. He was born April 7, 1939, in Marion County. He was the retired owner and operator of Abell Oil Company, and a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Carolyn Patterson Abell; his parents, Fowler Athanasius and Anna Spalding Abell; one sister, Cecilia Abell; one brother, James Mark Abell; and one grandson, Thomas Brandon Abell.

Survivors include two daughters, Sissy (Joe Marion) Blandford, of St. Frances, and Wanda (Ray) Meade, of Ashland; three sons, Joe (Julie) Abell, of Stafford, Va., Eugene (Dana) Abell, of Lebanon, and Jamie (Stephanie) Abell, of Lebanon; three sisters, Mary Lou Milner, of Georgia, Sheila Williams, of Louisville and Libby Barlow of Lebanon; three brothers, Pat Abell, Lawrence Abell, and Fowler Abell, all of Lebanon; and 13 grandchildren.

A Mass of Christian Burial is 11 a.m. Monday, July 22, 2013, at St. Augustine Catholic Church in Lebanon with burial to follow at the church cemetery.

Visitation is after 4 p.m. Sunday, July 21, 2013, at Bosley Funeral Home with a prayer service at 7 p.m. with Deacon Joseph R. Dant.

Bosley Funeral Home in Lebanon is in charge of arrangements.
