IVAN EARL HATFIELD

Ivan Earl Hatfield, 94, of Bardstown, died Sunday,July 21, 2013, at Jewish Hospital. He was born Aug. 23, 1918, in Bullitt County. He served in World War II and retired as a self-employed painter.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Nina Hatfield; two brothers, Marion Hatfield and Gilbert Hatfield; and two sisters, Glendolyn French and Edith Walker.

He was the loving husband and best friend of his wife, Beatrice Brinner of Bardstown who survives him. They were married on December 7, 1935 and enjoyed almost 78 years of marriage. He is also survived by one daughter, Mary Ann Johnson and a son-in-law he referred to as his son, Charles “Charlie” Johnson of Bardstown; two granddaughters, Marcia Cammack and Charlotte Yeast, and three great-grandchildren, Matthew Cammack, Dustin and Kayla Yeast.

The funeral is 10 a.m. Thursday, July 25, 2013, at Barlow Funeral Home with burial in the St. Joseph Cemetery. The Rev. Darrell Goodlett will be officiating.

Visitation is 3-8 p.m. Wednesday, July 24, 2013, and 8-10 a.m. Thursday, July 25, 2013, at Barlow Funeral Home.

Memorial Contributions may go to Disabled Veterans and Bethlehem High School.

Barlow Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
