Cox’s Creek family displaced after kitchen fire damages their home

fireshieldMonday, July 22, 2013, 6:52 p.m. (Updated 10:40 p.m.) — A family of four was displaced Monday evening after their home was damaged after a fire started in the kitchen of their Cox’s Creek home.

The Bardstown Fire Department was called at 5:37 p.m. to respond to the fire in the 500 block of Lenore Road. Firefighters arrived to find smoke and flames visible in the house. Fire crews extinguished the fire and remained on scene for more than two hours conducting salvage operations at the home. The fire damage was limited to the kitchen area of the home.

The American Red Cross was called to help the family with immediate shelter needs.
