HAZEL CULVER SORRELL

Hazel Culver Sorrell, 95, of Bardstown, died Tuesday, July 30, 2013, at Hardin Memorial Hospital in Elizabethtown. She was born Sept. 26, 1917, in Nelson County. She was a retired employee of J.J. Newberry and a member of The First Cedar Creek Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene “Pinky” Sorrell; one son, Eugene “Gene” Sorrell; her parents, John and Mildred Culver; and three brothers, Homer Culver, J.W. Culver, and Victor Culver.

She is survived by one daughter, Janet Sorrell Zipprich of Bowling Green; one son, William “Bill” (Joyce) Sorrell of Elizabethtown; one brother, Earl Culver of Niles, Mich.; one daughter-in-law, Carolyn Sorrell of Hopkinsville; seven grandchildren, Devon (Rob) Glassburn, Brittany (Bryan) Coffey, Derek Zipprich, Erek (Bethany) Zipprich, Lauri (Don) Pemberton, Leslie Sorrell, and Lee Ann Sorrell; and seven great-grandchildren, Rebecca Glassburn, Emily Glassburn, Marley Zipprich Stokes, Hailey Zipprich Yeagley, Carson Pemberton, Chase Pemberton, and Evelyn Coffey.

The funeral is 11 a..m. Saturday, Aug. 3, 2013, at The First Cedar Creek Baptist Church with burial in the church cemetery. Pastor Tim Lucas will officiate.

Visitation is 4–8 p.m. Friday, Aug. 2, 2013, and 9–10:30 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 3, 2013, at Barlow Funeral Home.

Memorial contributions may go to her church cemetery fund.

Barlow Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
