Bardstown firefighters respond to Hobbs Lane garage fire

Sunday, Aug. 4, 2013, 4:10 p.m. — The Bardstown Fire Department was called at about 8 p.m. Friday to the 800 block of Hobbs Lane for a vehicle on fire in a garage. Firefighters reported seeing smoke from the blaze from several miles away on as they drove to the scene on US31E. The car and garage were fulling engulfed in flames when fire crews arrived. Firefighters had the fire under control in about 15 minutes, though crews were on scene for nearly two more hours extinguishing hot spots. Firefighters cleared the scene at 10:13 p.m. Friday and returned to station.
