CHARLES IRVIN ‘CHUCK’ THOMPSON

Charles Irvin “Chuck” Thompson, 46, of Loretto, died Wednesday, August 7, 2013, at Jewish Hospital in Louisville. He was born Nov. 29, 1966, in Marion County. He formerly worked as a restaurant cook.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas Michael and Sophie Mae Battcher Thompson; one niece, Renee Donahue; and one nephew, George Michael Davis.

Survivors include seven sisters, Sharon Donahue, Barbara Mudd (Joe) all of Holy Cross, Wanda Davis (Drexal) of New Hope, Doris Lamkin and Nancy Leigh (Phillip Lamkin) all of Raywick, Connie Mattingly (Archie) and Julie Robey (Tom) all of Loretto; six brothers, Tommy Thompson (Mary), Jim Thompson (Madeline) and Mark Thompson all of St. Francis, Bill Thompson of Loretto, John Thompson and Dan Thompson (Glenna) all of Raywick; and a host of nieces, nephews and great-nieces and nephews who loved him dearly and will miss him.

The funeral is 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 10, 2013, at Mattingly Funeral Home, 195 Holy Cross Road, Loretto. Deacon Joseph R. Dant will officiate. Burial is in the St. Francis of Assisi cemetery.

Visitation is 2-8 p.m. Friday at Mattingly Funeral Home. Memorial donations may go toward burial expenses.

Pallbearers are Frank Donahue, Daniel Leigh, Walter Robey, Jay-Bird Mattingly, Johnathan Thompson, Luke Bickett, Scott Davis and Dustin Thompson.

Mattingly Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
