Arthur Greene ‘Art’ Rogers, 73, Bloomfield

Arthur Greene “Art” Rogers, 73,  of Bloomfield, died Sunday, Aug. 11, 2013, peacefully at Norton Audubon Hospital in Louisville with his family at his side. He was a native of Hazard and an employee of Suburban Towing and Recovery. He was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church and Church Choir.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James T. and Emma Elizabeth Callahan Rogers and an infant sister, Elizabeth Rogers.

He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Sandra Olson Rogers; two daughters, Teresa (Matt) Koreck and Cecilia (Monte) Starling, both of Louisville; three sons, Robert “Bob” Rogers of Indianapolis, Jeff (Amy) Rogers of Pekin Ind., and Master Sgt. Mark (Brendy) Rogers of Virginia; one sister, Jane Piatt of Brandenburg; three brothers, James T. (Olga) Rogers of Spring, Texas, Stephen (Marsha) Rogers of Louisville, and Gene Rogers of Lexington; 14 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and Little Girl the family cat.

A Mass of Christian Burial is 10 a.m. Friday, Aug. 16, 2013, at St. Michael Catholic Church in Fairfield. The Rev. Bill Hammer is the celebrant. Burial is in the church cemetery.

Visitation is 2-8 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 15, 2013will be in St. Michael’s Cemetery. Friends may kindly call the Houghlin Funeral Home on Thursday August 15, 2013 from 2:00-8:00 p.m with prayer service at 6:00 p.m. Family request expression of sympathy take the form of contributions to St. Michael Church Building Fund.

The Houghlin Funeral Home in Bloomfield is in charge of arrangements.
