Obituary: Emily Margaret Drake, 92, Bardstown

Emily Margaret Drake, 92, of Bardstown, died Monday, Aug. 19, 2013, at Flaget Memorial Hospital in Bardstown. She was the former Emily Wigginton and a member of the Bloomfield Baptist Church where she was active in the Womens Missionary Union and quilters. She was a homemaker.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Drake; her parents. Elsmer and Gertrude Adams Wigginton; and one brother, Roy Lee Wigginton.

She is survived by two daughters, Linda (Lee) Goodin of Lexington and Elaine (Tony) Martin of Louisville; one son, Roy S. (Jackie) Drake of Bardstown; and seven grandchildren, Patrick Martin and Rae Martin, Sarah Goodin, Betsy Goodin, and Joe (Nikki) Goodin, and Lauren Drake and Daniel Drake.

The funeral is 11 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 22, 2013, at the Bloomfield Baptist Church with Bro. Leland Parks and Bro. Richard Carwile officiating. Burial is in the Big Spring Cemetery in Bloomfield.

Visitation is 3-8 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 21, 2013, at Houghlin Funeral Home in Bloomfield, and 9-11 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 22, 2013, at the church.

The family requests expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to the Bloomfield Baptist Church.

The Houghlin Funeral Home in Bloomfield is in charge of arrangements.
