CONNIE MARGARET WERNER

Connie Margaret Werner, 61, of Bardstown, died Tuesday, Aug. 20, 2013, at Baptist Healthcare in Louisville. She was born on Jan. 13, 1952, in Nelson County. She was a retired employee Bardstown Elementary School in food service, a member of First Christian Church Disciples of Christ and My Old Kentucky Home Order of the Eastern Star #436.

She was preceded in death by her father, Marchel Simpson; and one brother, Ronald Earl Simpson.

She is survived by her husband, Joe H. Werner; her mother, Gladys Dennis Simpson of Bardstown; three sons, Joe R. (Christy) Werner of Tulsa, Okla., Brian (Jamie) Werner and Craig Werner, both of Bardstown; two sisters, Shirley Davis and Peggy (Joey) Wathen, both of Bardstown; three brothers, Bobby (Carol) Simpson, Kenny (Bonnie) Simpson and Marty Simpson, all of Bardstown; and six grandchildren, Lauren Werner, Blake Werner, Eli Werner, Kate Werner, Cole Werner and Lance Werner.

The funeral is 11 a.m. Friday, Aug. 23, 2013, at the First Christian Church Disciples of Christ with burial in the Bardstown Cemetery. The Rev. Dr. Rick Loader will officiate.

Visitation is 3-8 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 22, 2013, at Houghlin-Greenwell Funeral Home and 9-11 a.m. Friday, Aug. 23, 2013, at the church. An Eastern Star service is 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Houghlin-Greenwell Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
