Pair arrested after check used to open bank account is counterfeit

Tuesday, Aug. 27, 2013, 10:45 p.m. — Justin D. Livers, 31, and Delaina Raye Dunford, 30, both of Bardstown, were arrested by Bardstown Police Tuesday morning at Wilson & Muir Bank and Trust after Livers opened a bank account Monday with a counterfeit check, and the pair returned to the bank Tuesday to withdraw money from the account.
At 11:07 a.m., Bardstown Police responded to a hold-up alarm at the bank. As officers arrived, they found Livers and Dunford leaving the rear doors of the bank. According to the police department press release, after opening the account Monday, when the pair returned to the bank Tuesday to withdraw money from the account they were denied access to the money. After a bank employee activated the hold up alarm, the pair attempted to leave the bank and they were taken into custody by police.
A search of their vehicle by police turned up marijuana and a set of scales. Livers told police the marijuana was his and it did not belong to Dunford. Livers was arrested and charged with possession of a forged instrument, third-degree; possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. Dunford was arrested and charged with possession of a forged instrument, third-degree.
