Kenneth Perry “Kenny” Smith, 83, of Lebanon, died Tuesday, August 27, 2013, at his home.

He was born Dec. 17, 1929, in Long Island, N.Y. He formerly worked as a meat cutter at the Lucky Grocery Store in Las Vegas, Nev. He was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps and a Catholic by faith.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Martha Beers Smith; four sons, Tom Smith, Kenny Smith, Roger Alvey and Robert Alvey; and several brothers and sisters.

Survivors include his wife, Norma Jean Ruley Smith; two daughters, Kerry Newman of Las Vegas, Nev. and Robin Rossman of Lebanon; one grandson, Bryan Newman; and several brothers and sisters.

Cremation was chosen. A memorial service is 1 p.m. Friday, Aug. 30, 2013, at Mattingly Funeral Home, 195 Holy Cross Road, Loretto. Chaplain Wesley Paul will officiate.

Mattingly Funeral Home in Loretto is in charge of arrangements.
