Matthew ‘Matt’ Young, 32, Bardstown

MATTHEW “MATT” YOUNG

Matthew “Matt” Young, 32, of Bardstown, died Monday, August 26, 2013, in Nelson County. He was born June 3, 1981 in Louisville. He was an employee for Eric Young Construction and loved the outdoors.

He was preceded in death by his father, James Michael “Mike” Young Sr.; maternal grandfather, James O. Roby; and paternal grandparents, Howard and Iva Young.

He is survived by his daughter, Kaitlyn “Katie” Mae Young of Bardstown; his mother, Tracey Roby of Bardstown; one brother, James Michael “Jamie” Young Jr. of Bardstown; his maternal grandmother, Juanita G. Roby of Bardstown; two special nieces, Alivia and Lindsay Young; and several aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

The funeral is 1 p.m. Friday, Aug. 30, 2013, at The First Cedar Creek Baptist Church with burial in the church cemetery. Pastor Tim Lucas and Pastor Gary Chesser will officiate.

Visitation is 10 a.m.– 1 p.m. Friday, Aug. 30, 2013, at the church.

Memorial contributions may go to a trust fund for his daughter.
