Obituary: Betty Bernice Pyle, 80, Elizabethtown

BETTY BERNICE PYLE

Betty Bernice Pyle, 80, of Elizabethtown, died Thursday, Aug. 29, 2013, at Elizabethtown Nursing and Rehab. She was born and raised in Ashland by the late Monroe and Madge Stambaugh. She was a Baptist by faith and a member of the Northside Baptist Church in Elizabethtown. She was a veteran of the U.S. Army Women’s Army Corp (WAC). She worked as a cook for several restaurants in the Bardstown area.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Virgil Stambaugh and Ralph Stambaugh; and one grandson, Austin Pyle.

She is survived by one daughter, Betty (Dan) Gallegos of New Haven; one son, Bob (Linda) Pyle of Bardstown;

five grandchildren,Robby (Lisa) Pyle, Jennifer (Cutter) Cottongim, Jason (Tammy) Gallegos, Brooke Parker, and Monique Gallegos; and 10 great-grandchildren, Amanda, Brandon, Will, Trevor, Caleb, Skyler, Preston, Daniel, Logan and KaDee.

The funeral is 3 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 31, 2013, at the Joseph L. Greenwell Funeral Home in New Haven with the Rev. Bill Durbin officiating.

Visitation is 11 a.m.-3 p.m. at the funeral home.

The Joseph L Greenwell Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
