Men hospitalized after apparent drug overdose at state park

Friday, Aug. 30, 2013, 10:50 p.m. — Two men were hospitalized Friday evening after they were found unconscious in the picnic area at My Old Kentucky Home State Park. Nelson County EMS and Bardstown Police responded to a report of two men unconscious in the park at about 7:01 p.m. Officers at the scene reported the men were gasping and struggling to breathe. The men were transported by EMS ambulances to Flaget Memorial Hospital for an apparent overdoses on heroin.  Police impounded a Ford Taurus at found at the scene.
