Coroner, city police investigate the death of South Rogan Drive man

Sunday, Sept. 7, 2013, 1:05 p.m. — Bardsdtown Police and the Nelson County Coroner are investigating the death of a Bardstown man found dead Sunday morning in his South Rogan Drive home.

At 11:08 Sunday morning, Bardstown Police were asked to conduct a welfare check at the man’s home after a call from a friend or family member that a note left on the man’s front door days ago was never retrieved, and the man would not answer his door. His car was in the driveway with the windows down.

Officers forced their way into the home and found the man was deceased. They requested the coroner, a chaplain and the department’s crime scene technician come to the scene. Nelson County EMS crews assisted the coroner’s office at the scene. Police were at the scene for about an hour and 45 minutes.
