Obituary: John Dolan ‘Jack’ Greenwell, 81, Bardstown
John Dolan “Jack” Greenwell, 81, of Bardstown, died Sunday, Sept. 8, 2013, at his home. He was born July 6, 1932, in Fairfield. He was a former employee of The Kentucky Department of Parks at My Old Kentucky Home State Park and a former truck driver for Heaven Hill Distilleries. He a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church.
He was preceded in death by two sons, John Dolan Greenwell Jr., and David Ray Greenwell Sr.; his parents, William Raymond and Mary Ola Greenwell; two sisters, Sarah Elizabeth Yates and Fay Newton; nine brothers, Tommy Greenwell, Joe Donnie Greenwell, Larry Dale Greenwell, Tony Greenwell, J.W. Greenwell, Brother Greenwell, Robert E. “Bob” Greenwell Sr., Edwin D. “Dotty” Greenwell, David Stafford Greenwell.
He is survived by two daughters, Linda Kay Greenwell of Louisville and Jacqueline “Tinnie” (Dave) Voss of Elizabethtown; three sisters, Judy (Ralph) Summitt, Phyllis (Rodney) White, both of Bardstown, and Frances Vandusen of Bloomfield; two brothers, Billy Ray (Freda) Greenwell of Bardstown and Lloyd Greenwell of Louisville; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral is 11 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 12, 2013, at Houghlin-Greenwell Funeral Home with burial in the St. Joseph Cemetery. Bro. Steve Hill will officiate.
Visitation is 5-8 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 11, 2013, and 8:30-11 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 12, 2013, at the funeral home.
