Police investigating man shot to death with a shot gun Wednesday night

Wednesday, Sept. 11, 2013, 8:30 p.m. — The Nelson County Sheriff’s Office is investigating at this hour an apparent shooting death in the 100 block of Emerald Court west of Bardstown off Hubbards Lane.

The shooting was reported at about 8:20 p.m. with the caller reporting a man had been shot in the neck with a shotgun. While first-responders were en route, Nelson County Dispatch was asked to determine the availability of a medical helicopter. After a deputy sheriff arrived on scene it was determined the victim had died, and EMS and the helicopter request was canceled. Detectives and the Nelson County Coroner are en route to the scene at this writing.
