Obituary: Frances Ratermann, SL, 81, Nerinx

Frances Ratermann, aka Sr. Mary Xavier, 81, of Nerinx, died Tuesday, September 10, 2013 at the Loretto Motherhouse Infirmary.

She was born April 28, 1932, in El Paso, Texas to the late Julius and Helen Longuemare Ratermann. She entered religious life in 1950. She earned a Master’s Degree in Music from De Paul University in Chicago. Her teaching assignments were in St. Louis, Mo., Denver, Colo., Hong Kong, China and El Paso.

The Mass of Christian Burial is 10 a.m. Monday, Sept. 16, 2013, at the Loretto Motherhouse Church, Nerinx, with burial in the Motherhouse Cemetery.

A vigil service is 6:30 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 15, 2013, at the Motherhouse.

Mattingly Funeral Home in Loretto is in charge of arrangements.
