Two injured in two-vehicle crash on Old Bloomfield Road

Friday, Sept. 13, 2013, 10 p.m. — A woman and an 11-year-old boy were injured Friday evening in a two-vehicle crash east of Bloomfield on Old Bloomfield Road about two miles from the old Eli Brown School. Police, Nelson County EMS and the Northeast Nelson Fire Department were dispatched to the scene at 6 p.m. Firefighters were called to extricate the injured woman from one of the vehicles. The woman was flown by helicopter to University Hospital for treatment of unknown injuries. The juvenile was transported to Flaget Memorial Hospital from the scene complaining of right arm pain. Firefighters were on the scene for just over an hour.
