Bardstown Fire responds to report of burning hay on Louisville Road

Tuesday, Sept. 17, 2013, 7:40 a.m. — The Bardstown Fire Department was called to the 8000 block of Louisville Road for some hay bales on fire. Firefighters were dispatched to the location at about 7:20 Tuesday morning. When firefighters arrived, the property owner was already at the scene and told firefighters he was going to push the three smoldering bales of hay into a pond to extinguish them. The firefighters response was canceled and units returned to station.
