STAFF REPORT
Thursday, Sept. 19, 2013, 10:30 a.m. — A Bloomfield man was arrested early Thursday morning after police responding to a reported domestic violence incident found out he was suspected of stealing items from vehicles parked at Flaget Memorial Hospital.
Lloyd Neal Graham Jr., 44, Bloomfield, was arrested and charged with receiving stolen property under $500 (2 counts); receiving stolen property (firearm); possession of a handgun by a convicted felon; operating on a suspended or revoked operators license; improper registration plate; failure to notify address change to Department of Transportation; failure of non-owner/operator to maintain required insurance/security.
Police received an eyewitness report that a man head-butted a woman and hit her while they were in the Flaget Memorial Hospital parking lot. The woman allegedly entered the hospital and the man got in a Chevy S-10 pickup truck. As officers arrived at the hospital, Bardstown Police Officer Reece Riley saw the truck leave the parking lot. Riley stopped the vehicle and identified the driver as Graham.
While officers investigated the assault at Flaget, it was determined Graham had a suspended/revoked operator’s license, the truck was improperly registered and had no insurance, and his operator’s license record had the wrong address. Witnesses at the hospital told officers Graham was witnessed as a suspect who had stolen items from at least one vehicle in the parking lot.
A search of Graham’s truck revealed numerous items police confirmed were stolen from a vehicle at the Flaget parking lot. Police recovered a purse and a Smith and Wesson .38 caliber handgun, stereo speakers, a car stereo, prescription medications, DVDs and other items from the pickup truck.
Graham was arrested and lodged in the Nelson County Jail. Anyone with additional information should contact Bardstown Police, (502) 348-6811 or Nelson County Dispatch (502 348-3211.
