Obituary: Marilyn Parrish Janes, 70, Bardstown
Marilyn Parrish Janes, 70, of Bardstown, died Wednesday, Sept. 18, 2013, at Flaget Memorial Hospital in Bardstown. She was born Sept. 14, 1943, in Woodlawn and was a graduate of My Old Kentucky Home High School class of 1961. She retired from the Bardstown City Schools and the Archdiocese of Louisville. She was a member of Parkway Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Donnie Lee Janes; her parents, C.W. and Louise Parrish; and two brothers, Jimmy Parrish and Norman Parrish.
She is survived by one daughter, Kim (Norman) Leavitt of Bardstown; one son, Terry Janes of Bardstown; two sisters, Kathy Parrish and Brenda Donahue; four grandchildren, Morgan Janes, Caroline Janes, Donovan Leavitt, and Noah Leavitt;
and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral is 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 21, 2013, at Barlow Funeral Home with burial in the Bardstown Cemetery. Dr. James Carroll will officiate.
Visitation is 3–8 p.m. Friday, Sept. 20, 2013, and 9–11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 21, 2013, at Barlow Funeral Home.
Memorial contributions may go to Parkway Baptist Church.
