Rolling Thunder Post 4 meets, conducts officer elections for 2013
The monthly membership and business meeting of Rolling Thunder Inc. Kentucky Chapter Four was held Sept. 8, 2013. The guest speaker was H. Wayne Creighton, President/CEO of Interlink Counseling Services. Interlink provides long-term treatment for alcohol and drug addictions to homeless veterans. It offers a 100 bed, home-like housing facility. Residents are provided group counseling, case management, relapse prevention education, life skills classes and much more. The 2013 Election of Officers and Board members was approved with Mike Hill as President, Sharon Locke-Secretary, Board Members: John Locke, Paul Benkert and Charley Wachowski. A patch was awarded to Junior Member Nate Colgrove by new Chapter President Mike Hill. Margaret Scurlock became the newest member to the chapter.
The next monthly membership and business meeting open to the public will be a Fun Run on October 6, 2016. It will be riding just for fun while helping our veterans. Those who do not have a motorcycle can bring their car. Meet at Lebanon Junction Pilot 105 Truck Stop. Exit 105(Hwy 61) 150 Park Plaza Boulevard. Kick Stands up at 2 p.m. Cost is $10 to cover lunch with proceeds to benefit our veterans. We will be riding scenic Kentucky back roads to Giavanni’s at 104 Canewood Center Drive #7, Georgetown, KY 40324. After lunch, you are free to do as you please – stay with the group or go on your own.
Meetings are held monthly on the first Sunday and open to the public. Anyone can join Rolling Thunder even though many members are veterans and ride motorcycles, you don’t need to be a veteran or ride a bike to join. The major function of Rolling Thunder Inc. is to publicize the POW/MIA issue and committed to helping homeless and disabled veterans of all wars and other Veterans issues.
