Obituary: William H. ‘Bill’ Boblitt, 78, Bardstown
William H. “Bill” Boblitt, 78, of Bardstown, died Monday, Sept. 23, 2013, at Colonial Health and Rehab Center in Bardstown. He was born Dec. 24, 1934, in Nelson County. He was in the automotive battery business in Louisville for more than 45 years as the owner/operator of BC Battery Exchange and B&L Brokers. He was a Kentucky Colonel and a member of Mill Creek Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Tammy Boblitt Wininger; his parents, Willie Lee and Virginia Boblitt; three brothers, Bobby Boblitt, David Boblitt and Franklin Boblitt; and his former wife Judy Harley.
He is survived by four daughters, Karen (John) May and Barbara (Patrick) McGary, both of Louisville, Ann (John) Roettger of McCordsville, Ind., and Buffy (Tommy) Greenwell of Bardstown; one son, Michael (Patty) Boblitt of Louisville; three sisters, Pat (Arnold) Clark and Martha (Jack) Ballard both of Bardstown, and Linda (Ed) Edelen of Leitchfield; one brother, Carl (Stephanie) Boblitt of Las Vegas, Nev.; 11 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews survive.
The funeral is 2 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 26, 2013, at Houghlin-Greenwell Funeral Home with burial in the Bardstown Cemetery. The Rev. Stith will officiate.
Visitation is 2-8 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 25, 2013, and after 9 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 26, 2013, at Houghlin-Greenwell Funeral Home.
