Obituary: Christopher Jerome ‘Jerry’ Nalley, 73, New Hope

CHRISTOPHER JEROME ‘JERRY’ NALLEY

Christopher Jerome “Jerry” Nalley, 73, of New Hope, died Tuesday, Sept. 24, 2013 at his home. He was born Nov. 7, 1939, in Holy Cross. He was a former employee of Karbar Construction in New Haven and a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church. He loved family, fishing and the University of Kentucky Wildcats.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Sandra Marie Masden Nalley who died May 9; his first wife, Josephine Ann “Joann” Riley Nalley; one daughter, Phyllis Williamson; two sons, Tommy Riggs and Paul Riggs; his parents, Henry Ivo Nalley Sr. and Mary Genevieve Downs Nalley; five sisters, Margaret Ann Chesher, Frances Elizabeth Mattingly, Bonnie Wade, Angela Couch and Omia Kelty; and two brothers, James Leon Nally, Sr. and infant Joseph Gary Nalley.

Survivors include three daughters, Donna Greenwell of Bardstown, Rose Lamkin (Mike) and Jackie Clayton (Bill), both of New Hope; eight sons, Jimmy Riggs (Jean) of Fairfield, Keith Riggs (Connie) of Culvertown, Chris Nalley (Lisa) and Greg Nalley (Laura), both of Bardstown, Ricky Nalley and Pat Riggs both of New Hope, Dean Riggs (Karen) of Chaplin and Dan Nalley (Melissa) of Hodgenville; three sisters, Brenda Conder (Roger), Sheila Warner (Doug) and Genny Lovingood, all of Bardstown; one brother, Henry Ivo Nalley, Jr. (Mary) of New Haven; and a number of grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

A Mass of Christian Burial is 11 a.m. Fridwill be 11 AM Friday, September 27, 2013 at Saint Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, 104 Church Street, New Hope. The Rev. Ken Fortener is the celebrant. Burial is in the church cemetery.

Visitation is 3-8 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 26, 2013, at Mattingly Funeral Home, 195 Holy Cross Road, Loretto with a prayer service at 6:30 p.m. with Deacon Eddie Hutchins.

Pallbearers are Chris Nalley, Greg Nalley, Dan Nalley, Dean Riggs, Jimmy Riggs and Travis Greenwell.

Mattingly Funeral Home in Loretto is in charge of arrangements.
