Police, EMS respond to reported self-inflicted gunshot wound

Friday, Sept. 27, 2013, 10:10 p.m. — Nelson County EMS and the Nelson County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of an individual with an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound at a home on Fairfield Cemetery Loop between Fairfield and Bloomfield on KY48. EMS and police were dispatched to the scene at about 8:30 p.m. Friday evening. After arriving on scene, first-responders determined the victim was deceased and requested the Nelson County Coroner respond to the scene. A sheriff’s office chaplain also responded to the scene.
