JOSEPH WAYNE ‘JOE’ LUCAS

Joseph Wayne “Joe” Lucas, 28, of Cox’s Creek, died Friday, Sept. 27, 2013, at his home. He was born April 11, 1985 in Louisville. He was a truck driver for B & F Trucking in Bardstown, and was a member of the Baptist faith.

He is survived by his father and stepmother, Bruce (Jeanetta) Lucas of Bloomfield; his mother, Anita Saling of Brownsville; one sister, Amy Lucas of Lexington; one brother, Robbie (Jessie) Lucas of New Haven; one stepsister, Ticia Porter of Mount Washington; one stepbrother, Eric Porter of Taylorsville; his paternal grandmother, Rita Lucas of Bardstown; and his stepgrandmother, Myrtle Washburn of Taylorsville.

The funeral is 11 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 1, 2013, at the Houghlin Funeral Home in Bloomfield, with Bro. Will Sipes officiating. Burial is in St. Vincent DePaul Cemetery in New Hope.

Visitation is 3-8 p.m. Monday, Sept. 31, 2013, at the funeral home.

The family requests expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions for funeral expenses.

The Houghlin Funeral Home in Bloomfield is in charge of arrangements.
