Firefighters responding to Ballard Court for active CO detectors

Thursday, Nov. 25, 2010, 5:45 p.m. — The Bardtown Fire Department is responding to 116 Ballard Court for a carbon monoxide alarm that has been activated.

5:53 p.m. — Incident commander reports that detectors confirm the presence of carbon monoxide in the home. They will investigate to determine the source.

6:12 p.m. — Firefighters determine the source of the CO was a small gasoline engine the homeowner had operated in the home’s basement. They are ventilating the home of the fumes.
