Firefighters called to investigate smoking wall at Maple Hill eatery

Sunday, Nov. 14, 2010, 1:35 p.m. — The Bardstown Fire Department is responding to the Stephen Foster Restaurant, 503 W. Stephen Foster, for a report of smoke coming from a wall near the restaurant’s backdoor area. A firefighter and a city police officer are already on scene investigating.

1:55 p.m. — Firefighters determine the smoke was generated by smoldering insulation in the wall that was ignited by a cigarette. They are removing insulation.
