Firefighters spend nearly 2 hours fighting grass fire off Meadow Lane
Saturday, Nov. 13, 2010, 5:20 p.m. — Firefighters with the Bardstown Fire Department spent nearly two hours fighting a grass fire that was off Meadow Drive between there and the R.J. Corman Railroad tracks north of KY 245.
The call to Nelson County Dispatch came in about 3:30 p.m. Saturday. The fire initially was reported to involve about 3/4 of an acre; however that figure was bumped up to 2 to 2-1/2 acres once more firefighters arrived to assess the burned area.
Firefighters brought several trucks out to the area to help fight the fire, which had spread into a wooded area. Firefighters wrapped up their operation and left the scen about 5:20 p.m.
