Sparking transformer causes grass fire near American Rental on KY245

Wednesday, Nov. 10, 2010, 1:19 p.m. — The Bardstown Fire Department is responding to a reported fire in front of American Rental next to Dairy Queen. A firefighter on scene reported the business employees extinguished the fire. They reported that a power transformer blew and the sparks caused the grass at the base of the utility pole to burn. The fire department response was canceled, but the fire chief will respond to confirm.
