Firefighters respond to smoke reported in McGowan Ave. home

Monday, Oct. 7, 2013, 1:30 p.m. — The Bardstown Fire Department was called to the 100 block of McGowan Avenue just before 4 a.m. Monday morning for a report of smoke in a residence. Firefighters investigated the problem and determined the issue was likely caused by the home’s furnace, and reported the occupant will have the furnace checked. Firefighters were on the scene for about 30 minutes.
