Joseph “Kenneth” Hutchins, 76, of Holy Cross, died Tuesday, Oct. 8, 2013, at his home.

JOSEPH ‘KENNETH’ HUTCHINS

He was born March 4, 1937, at Holy Cross. He was a farmer and former employee of Ford Motor Company.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Gonza and Augustine Nalley Hutchins; two sisters, Clara Jean Bevins and Mary Elizabeth Sims; six brothers, Ishmael Mattingly, Zack Mattingly and Bill Mattingly and Elmer Hutchins, Hubert Hutchins and Charles Hutchins; and one great-great grandson, Levi Hutchins.

Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Evelyn Naegele Hutchins; seven daughters, Cathy Willett (R.D.) of New Hope, Tina Hutchins of Boston, Carolyn Reid (Eddie) of Manton, Theresa Hutchins Shuler of Louisville, Kim Brady (Ronnie Coulter) and Sandra Lynn Taylor (Louis), both of Holy Cross, and Bonnie Jo Winsor (Ray Butler) of Bee Springs; one sister, Leora Bickett of Raywick; one brother, Tommy Hutchins of Springfield; 32 grandchildren; and 41 great-grandchildren.

A Mass of Christian Burial is 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 12, 2013, at Holy Cross Catholic Church, 3560 N. St. Francis Road, Loretto. Burial is in the church cemetery. The Rev. R. Joseph Hemmerle will be the celebrant.

Visitation is 11 a.m.-9 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 10, 2013, and 11 a.m.-9 p.m. Friday, Oct. 11, 2013, at Mattingly Funeral Home, 195 Holy Cross Road, Loretto, with a prayer service at 6:30 p.m. Friday with the Rev. Ben Brown.

His daughters and brother will serve as pallbearers.

Mattingly Funeral Home in Loretto is in charge of arrangements.
