New Hope Fire responds Saturday to Melody Lake garage fire

Saturday, Oct. 12, 2013, 6:30 p.m. — The New Hope Fire Department responded Saturday evening at 5:30 p.m. to a garage fire reported in the 100 block of Poplar Circle in the Melody Lake community. The fire department requested mutual aid from the Rolling Fork Fire Department to assist with a tanker and manpower. At about 6:11, firefighters reported the fire was out and they were removing smoke from the structure. Firefighters cleared the scene at about 6:25 p.m.
