LaRue County man dies in altercation with Hodgenville police

Oct. 13, 2013, 10:45 p.m. — A Hodgenville man died early Sunday morning in an altercation with police who were attempting to warrants on the man at his apartment.
A Kentucky State Police Post 4 press release states at about 2 a.m. Sunday Hodgenville Police officers were attempting to serve arrest warrants at an apartment located at 631 South Lincoln Blvd when an altercation began. One officer deployed his Taser during the struggle but it was ineffective. The subject of the warrants then grabbed a rifle and was subsequently shot multiple times by officers.
The injured man was taken to Hardin Memorial Hospital where he was pronounced dead by the Hardin County coroner. Neither Hodgenville police officer was injured in the incident.
The name of the deceased man has not been released pending notification of relatives.
