Woman arrested after her 911 call sends firefighters on false alarm

Tuesday, Oct. 15, 2013 – A Bardstown woman was arrested last week on charges she falsely reported an smoking circuit breaker panel at Hardee’s Restaurant, 707 N. Third St.
Donna Jean Girdley, 29, was arrested Wednesday on charges of falsely reporting an incident and wanton endangerment, first-degree.
Nelson County Dispatched received a call at 9:52 a.m. on Monday, Oct. 7, 2013, that reported an electrical problem with a breaker box at the restaurant. The Bardstown Fire Department responded, but the restaurant management said they were unaware of any problems and had not called the fire department.
Bardstown Police Chief Rick McCubbin obtained a recording of the phone call reporting the incident from Nelson County Dispatch and Girdley was identified.
Girdley was arrested Wednesday and lodged in the Nelson County Jail.
