Obituary: Glenn Lyvers, 51, Holy Cross
Glenn Lyvers, 51, of Holy Cross, died Tuesday, Oct. 15, 2013, at Hosparus Inpatient Care Center in Louisville.
He was born July 13, 1962, in Nelson County and worked as a carpenter. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and the Ready Reserves.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Fabian and Leona Mattingly Lyvers and an infant brother, Michael Anthony Lyvers.
Survivors include two sons, Joey Lyvers of Holy Cross and Brandon Lyvers (Priscilla) of Cecilia; three sisters, Ann Bullock, Charlene Thrift (Bo) and Janice Maddox (Charles) all of Alabama; six brothers, Randall Lyvers (Carol) of Pensacola, Fla., Jimmy Lyvers of Bardstown, Leroy Lyvers (Rita) of Holy Cross, David Lyvers and Larry Lyvers both of New Haven and Marion Lyvers (Dee) of Springfield; and several grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial is 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 19, 2013, at Holy Cross Catholic Church, 3560 North Saint Francis Road, Loretto, with burial to follow in the church cemetery with military rites performed by the Marion County Veterans Honor Guard. The Rev. Culpepper Elliot will be the celebrant.
Visitation is 3-8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 18, 2013, at Mattingly Funeral Home, 195 Holy Cross Road, Loretto, with a prayer service at 7 p.m.
Mattingly Funeral Home in Loretto is in charge of arrangements.
