Obituary: Rose Coomes, 73, Bardstown,
Rose Coomes, 73, of Bardstown, died Friday, Oct. 18, 2013, at her home. She was the former Rose Williams and a native of Nelson County. She was the daughter of the late Lee and Nancy Bradley Williams. She was a former employee of Heaven Hill Distillery and a retired employee of Inoac Packaging Company. She was a member of St. Gregory Catholic Church.
Survivors include her husband, Paul Coomes, whom she would have celebrated 52 years of marriage on Nov. 4, 2013. She is also survived by two daughters, Paula (Steve) Mattingly and Barbara (Stephen) Hutchins, both of Loretto; two sons, Jim (Anita) Coomes of Bardstown and Tom (Lynelle) Coomes of Fairfield; five sisters, Mary (Jim) Rogers, Judy Amig, Jean (Mike) Nalley, Polly (Michael) Hall, all of Cox’s Creek and Peggy (Randy) Ritchie of Bardstown; four brothers, Bishop Ken Williams of Shelbyville, Fred (Louise) Williams and Bobby (Betty) Williams, both of Cox’s Creek, and Joe (Joan) Williams of Dallas; seven grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Funeral arrangements are pending at this time and will be announced later by Houghlin-Greenwell Funeral Home who is in charge of arrangements.
